More about the Movement Of Mystery toward
the Purpose Of Parenting (MOM & POP) Retreat

NOTE: NewWay Ministries will not be hosting any Movement of Mystery toward the Purpose of Parenting events in 2009.

IF:		you are willing and eager to explore what is happening beneath the surface in you as you parent your child and in your child as he/she develops.
IF:		you are open to placing the desire to be a “holy parent” above your desire to raise a godly, responsible, emotionally healthy child.
IF:		you agree that parenting which seeks to release a child’s heart to love God, trust Jesus, and follow the Spirit will necessarily confront the “foolishness bound up in a child’s heart.”
IF:		you believe that “effective parenting techniques” must always take second place and emerge from the provision to your child of “meaningful relational engagement” as defined by the Bible.
THEN:		we invite you to apply for admission to one of the two PILOT MOM & POP weekends by briefly (2-4 paragraphs per question) answering the following three questions. By submitting the application, you are agreeing (if accepted) to arrange for your transportation to and from the Glen, to arrive in time for dinner Thursday evening (5:30 p.m.) and to remain through lunch Sunday (ending at 1:00 p.m.), to observe all rules and policies of the Glen Eyrie, and to participate fully in all scheduled and directed activities of the weekend.

 

General Information

Glen Eyrie Castle

The week-end begins with the 5:30 p.m. evening meal the first day and ends at 11:30 a.m. OR with an optional 11:30 a.m. luncheon the last day. All sessions (unless noted) will be held at Glen Eyrie in Colorado Springs.The Oaks Lodge will be our home for the extended-weekend, with meals served in the Castle dining room. The Glen has arranged a remarkably reasonable rate for us which includes lodging, meals and snacks. Lodging must be at Glen Eyrie with no exceptions. The week-end is intense requiring your full focus from early morning until late evening.

If you plan to fly in, the Colorado Springs airport is about 30 minutes from The Glen. Denver International Airport is 1 1/2 hours away. Transportation to and from either airport will be the responsibility of each couple.

Class Size

Class size is 30-34 participants. Due to limited space and demand we are currently only accepting applications from married couples who will attend together and/or single (widowed or divorced) parents.

Qualifications for Application:

1. You must resonate with the four “IF’s” listed above.
2. If married, both parents must attend the MOM and POP weekend. Single parents are welcome.
3. At least one child must be living at home.
4. You must read three books prior to coming: Inside Out, Shattered Dreams, and Connecting and be in general sympathy with (defined as no clear opposition to) the point of view expressed in these books.
5. You must be willing to meaningfully open yourself to the Spirit’s work in an extended weekend format.
    

2008 Cost of MOM & POP Weekend:

Tuition:	$ 150.00	per person (subject to change in 2009)
Lodging:	$ 686.00	per room – includes all meals and snacks

Airfare and ground transportation are arranged for and paid for by each person.
